How it works
The DOCX is opened in your browser, its text and structure are extracted, and the result is laid out as a print-ready document. Your browser's print dialog then opens, where you choose "Save as PDF" as the destination. Going through the print engine is what keeps fonts and layout looking right.
What carries over
Text, headings, lists, simple tables, bold and italic, links and inline images all survive the conversion.
What may shift
Complex layouts — floating text boxes, multi-column sections, custom headers and footers, automatic numbering — won't always land exactly where Word put them. For a contract or thesis with sensitive formatting, check the output before you send it.
I have an old DOC file
DOC is the pre-2007 Office format and its internals are completely different. Open it in Word and use Save As to write a DOCX, then bring that here.
Frequently asked questions
Is my document uploaded?
No. The file is opened and processed inside your browser and never sent to a server. For contracts and confidential documents that is the main difference from other online converters.
Why does a print dialog open instead of downloading directly?
The browser’s print engine handles fonts, page breaks and text layout far better than a direct export. Set the destination to "Save as PDF" and save.
It won’t accept my DOC file.
Only DOCX is supported. Open the DOC in Word and re-save it as DOCX first.
Do images inside the document carry over?
Yes, inline images are preserved. Images set to float over the text may end up in a different position.
